Product Information
Ten years on from their seminal debut release ‘The Calling’, Solarstone aka Rich Mowatt and Andrew Bury, release a double CD of their finest original moments. No fillers here, just a collection of some of the most inspired, genre-defining club monsters from the last decade.
Keeping their enormous resume of top-name remixes aside, ‘AnthologyOne’ draws together the cream of original Solarstone productions with work from their many alter egos including the avant-garde electronica outfit the Young Parisians; tough, hard trance alias Z2; Liquid Sate developed for work with Perfecto; and hands-in-the-air anthems creator Skyscraper.
Solarstone have been one of the biggest influences to have shaped the sound of trance, not only in the UK but also on an international level. Over the past ten years they have been responsible for some of the most momentous club tracks of our time and have been consistently supported by the biggest in the trance elite.
“Solarstone never disappoint, they always come up with warm, beautiful and just amazing music". (Tiesto)
“Their high level of production is still a standard for today.” (Armin Van Buuren)
“Solarstone have helped define the genre - Gods of uplifting Trance”. (Above & Beyond)
“Undoubtedly one of the finest & most consistent production teams from the last decade”. (Matt Darey)
AnthologyOne is essential listening for any clubber having witnessed a sunrise in Ibiza, lost it to Oakenfold at Cream, larged it at Gatecrasher, or simply with a penchant for meticulously produced melodic dance music. AnthologyOne is spread across two discs, the first being a 'home listening' selection of tracks from across the dance spectrum and the second is a seamlessly blended club mix of massive club tunes from the last 10 years. The album includes ‘The Calling’, ‘Seven Cities’, ‘3rd Earth’, ‘U Write The Rules’ (as ‘Young Parisians’), ‘I Want You’ (as Z2), and ‘Solarcoaster’. Also showcased are vocal masterpieces including ‘Speak In Sympathy’, ‘Like A Waterfall’, and ‘Jump The Next Train’ (as Young Parisians), plus blissed-out down tempo excursions including the legendary ‘Jabberwock’ and also no less than five previously unreleased and rare version tracks.
Solarstone’s production has been said to be ‘ahead of its time, and a blue print for others’ and looking back over this collection it’s clear to see why. Every piece of music created and the pseudonyms conceived have been part of another forward thinking and innovative project. There is so much history within AnthologyOne that there is a story behind every track. Read on for the breakdown.
AnthologyTwo and AnthologyThree are scheduled to follow this release in 2007, consisting of Solarstone’s finest remix work and ambient works respectively.
